🏒 Minnesota Hockey Equipment Checklist

All players must have properly fitted hockey equipment before participating in practices or games:

  • HECC-certified hockey helmet with a full face mask
  • Neck laceration protector/neck guard — required for all youth players
  • Shoulder pads
  • Elbow pads
  • Hockey gloves
  • Hockey pants/breezers
  • Protective cup or pelvic protector
  • Shin guards
  • Hockey skates
  • Hockey stick
  • Hockey jersey
  • Hockey socks
  • Mouthguard — required for all Squirt/10U players and older, including goalies
  • Equipment bag
  • Water bottle

Mouthguard Requirements:

Beginning with the 2026–2027 season, Squirt/10U and older players must wear a mouthguard that:

  • Is colored and easily visible—not clear or white
  • Is securely tethered to the helmet’s face mask
  • Covers all remaining teeth of one jaw
  • Is worn correctly whenever the player is on the ice

All equipment should fit properly, remain in good condition, and be worn as designed. Helmets and face masks must be HECC certified and properly secured. Cut-resistant socks, sleeves, and undergarments are also strongly recommended.
