Grievances & Concerns
Walker Youth Hockey Association is committed to providing players, parents, coaches, and Board members with a respectful and timely process for addressing concerns.
Before Submitting a Grievance:
Please review the grievance procedures in the WYHA Policy Manual and follow these steps:
- Observe the 24-hour cooling-off period following a game or practice before beginning a grievance-related conversation.
- Discuss the concern directly and respectfully with the coach or other party involved.
- If the concern cannot be resolved through that conversation, complete and sign the WYHA Grievance Form.
⚠️Important Safety Concerns
Concerns involving immediate player safety, suspected abuse, harassment, or other urgent misconduct should be reported immediately to the appropriate WYHA representative and should not be delayed by the 24-hour cooling-off period.
Submit a Grievance immediately.
For suspected abuse or SafeSport misconduct, use the USA Hockey SafeSport Reporting Portal.
What Happens After You Submit the Form?
The completed grievance form will be submitted to the Hockey Development Committee (HDC). The HDC will:
- Review the information provided.
- Contact the parties involved.
- Determine the appropriate next steps.
- Arrange a meeting when necessary.
If the concern remains unresolved, it may be referred to the WYHA Board of Directors for further review.
While every effort will be made to address concerns fairly, WYHA cannot guarantee a specific outcome or a resolution satisfactory to every party. All participants are expected to remain professional and respectful throughout the entire process.
